About Brian L. Christensen
Appointed Director of the International Monetary Fund’s Human Resources Department on September 1, 2025. Prior to that was Director of the Corporate Services and Facilities Department which entailed responsiblity for global corporate services and facilities, spanning a broad range of activities in support of the IMF’s mission, such as corporate real estate, security services, language services, creative solutions, procurement, and general services. Have spent 25 years at the IMF across a range of roles, including on corporate budget and people strategies, oversight of IT investments, and major IMF-wide initiatives and programs, among them the renewal of the IMF’s Headquarters 1 building. Have also been heavily involved in the design and implementation of the IMF’s capacity development initiatives and funding model, as well as the establishment of the IMF’s network of regional capacity development centers.Before joining the IMF in 2001, spent several years in bilateral and multilateral development assistance work with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.
