Clinical responsibilities include management of patients with primary diagnoses of cholangiocarcinoma, liver and/or pancreatic cancer along the continuum of care in the outpatient and inpatient setting, in collaboration with the HPB Attending Surgeons. First assist in the operating room. Atrium Health is the first organization in the US to be certified as an ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery) facility. This perioperative approach is consistently employed for HPB patients undergoing Liver Resection, Whipple Procedure, and Distal Pancreatectomy with/without Splenectomy. Atrium Health has been recognized as a Center for Excellence in the treatment of Pancreatic Cancer.
