   The Colorado Children’s Campaign is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization committed since 1985 to realizing every chance for every child in Colorado. We advocate for the development and implementation of data-driven public policies that improve child well-being in health, K-12 education, and early childhood. The Philanthropy Officer is a key member of the Development Team tasked with developing, implementing and evaluating major gift strategies as included in the organization’s diversified fund development plan. The Philanthropy Officer is also responsible for cultivating a portfolio of major and mid-level donors and supporting other staff members in the cultivation and stewardship of their major donor portfolios. Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Actively identify and acquire, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts to the benefit of the Colorado Children’s Campaign;• Plan strategies and implement practices that nurture existing and prospective donors capable of giving at the major gift level, whether through a current gift, multiyear pledge, planned or deferred gift or some combination thereof;• Serve as a role model and mentor for other staff, particularly regarding relationship building and donor cultivation strategies and activities;• Cultivate relationships with individuals, small businesses, and corporations, current or prospective donors in support of the Children’s Campaign‘s special events.• Continue to develop knowledge of Colorado Children’s Campaign programs and policies initiatives as well as their impact;• Advance the organization’s equity goals by embedding its values in fundraising, diversifying its donor base and specifically seeking to include people of color.
