ABOUT BRIAN HEEPS

Realised I have not updated my profile for quite a while, so, here is what I have been up to for the past few years. Senior Design manager for Watkin Jones working on three projects in Bournemouth, Christchurch Rd, this is three sections, 454 bed student accommodation over 11 floors, Premier Inn, 125 beds over 11 floors and high spec office block over 11 floors, two floors of underground car park, RC frame construction. Then followed Oxford Rd 16 floors of student accommodation from level 3 upwards, two floors of office for client fit out after completion, again two levels of underground car parking, RC frame. then recently handed over 18 floors, consisting of ground floor reception and services areas, including management suites, 4 floors of offices above and then 14 floors of 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments, including gymnasium and external terrace at 14th floor, again RC frame, note this is at present the highest building in Bournemouth. Previously employed as Design Manager working for a national main contractor on both pre and mainly post contract projects ranging from £5m-£20m. Based at both regional office and site, with an annual turnover in excess of £50m, experience in the commercial, industrial, education, and MOD sectors. Reporting to the Regional Design Manager, responsible for driving and finalising key aspects of design, assessing buildability, value engineering, liaising with the architects, structural engineers, building control, local planning, other consultants and the site production team to ensure the smooth flow of detailed information throughout project lifecycle. Confident at high level client meetings and presentations, chair design meetings and attend progress meetings, with good communication skills. I am highly motivated, well organised, computer literate with good technical construction knowledge. I maintain high standards, attention to detail and I have the drive to work as a key member of a team to deliver the job on time, meeting specification and within budget.
