ABOUT BRIAN ECHEVARRIA
Brian is a Professional Engineer (PE in California, P.Eng in Nova Scotia, Canada and Alberta, Canada) with over 11 years of experience in the Civil Engineering field and 6 years of management experience. Brian has been involved with aspects of design, plan production and modeling for numerous Caltrans and City owned roadway and transit projects. Brian is proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation design Software. Brian’s design expertise includes systems and traction power duct bank design, wet and dry utility design/coordination. Additional experience includes, roadway alignments, profiling, and cross sections, site grading, pavement delineation, stage construction and traffic handling, and traffic signal and lighting design. Brian has recently completed his work on the Federal Way Link Extension Design-Build project near Seattle, Washington. His roles included utility coordinator and utility design lead engineer for all three segments of the $3.2B light rail project. Brian is currently the Utility and Systems/Traction Power Duct Bank Deputy Design Manager/EOR for a 14km Valley Line West Light Rail Transit Extension Design-Build Project. Brian is responsible for overseeing the design and plan production of 20+ design packages including, wet/dry utilities, systems duct bank and traction power duct bank across the entire Light Rail Transit (LRT) corridor. Brian ensures that the underground infrastructure meets the project requirements and does not conflict with proposed LRT infrastructure. Brian also performs interdisciplinary reviews to confirm proposed LRT infrastructure meets the City’s required clearances from utilities and will coordinate a redesign of the infrastructure or determine that a utility relocation is required. Brian is also responsible for the design of water and fire services for the project’s operation and maintenance building. Brian has also sealed the designed for nearly 35km of systems and traction power duct banks across the project. Brian is currently part of the Engineering Services during Construction (ESDC) team, responding to RFIs and site queries to assist construction. Construction value:$3.0B
