Prior, he was at NBCUniversal as Vice President, Communications for USA Network, SYFY & Universal Cable Productions, helping to lead on corporate communications, marketing, digital and business/trade initiatives.Eley spent more than a decade with Discovery Communications in several roles. As Vice President of Consumer Program Publicity for Discovery Networks International, he promoted its immersive and dynamic content on a global scale, from original international productions to US series and specials that travel successfully worldwide. Eley was a senior member of Animal Planet\'s team, managing program and talent publicity, where he oversaw the publicity department\'s New York operations and managed publicity for some of Animal Planet\'s top-rated series including River Monsters, Finding Bigfoot and Whale Wars. Eley worked closely with the head of network publicity on program and trade strategy, operations, crisis communications and executive press opportunities. Prior to joining Animal Planet, Eley was the manager of publicity for TLC, where he oversaw national promotion of such hit series as What Not to Wear and Miami Ink. Eley began his career with media relations/communications roles at public broadcasters KQED in San Francisco and WETA in Washington DC as well as the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).Eley is a graduate of The University of Virginia, where he received a degree in English literature. He\'s an avid sports fan, world traveler, follower of all things geek and a fierce advocate for social justice.
