Brian Downer is executive vice president and head of Enterprise Corporate Services (ECS) for Truist. He is responsible for a broad array of enterprise functions and initiatives including Third-Party Management, Corporate Real Estate and Workplace Management, Corporate Security, Global Service Delivery, Corporate Travel Services, Truist Store and Contingent Workforce. Since joining Truist in 2019 as Chief Procurement Officer, he has developed and implemented Truist’s third-party management strategy and corporate services programs aligned to Truist’s strategy. Downer emphasizes sustainability, supplier development, and inclusive sourcing based on service excellence, risk management, innovation, and value creation. With more than 30 years of banking experience, he previously served as Chief Procurement Officer for State Street Bank.Downer currently serves as Treasurer and executive committee member on the Board of Directors for the National Minority Supplier Development Council. He is a member of the Chief Procurement Officer Council for Ariel Investments Project Black. Passionate about philanthropy and community engagement, he also serves in various capacities with other national and regional non-profit and small business advocacy organizations. A native of Massachusetts, Downer earned a bachelor’s degree with a finance concentration from Merrimack College. Outside of work, he enjoys sports, music, and spending time with family.
