About Brian Corio
Brian Corio is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s North American Commercial Restructuring practice in New York. As Co-Head of the practice’s East region, he specializes in developing financial, operational and strategic solutions for companies and their creditors in distressed and non-distressed situations.Mr. Corio brings 18 years of financial restructuring and management consulting experience. His primary areas of concentration include developing strategic business and turnaround plans; implementing cash flow forecasting and cash preservation programs; evaluating operational performance and improvement opportunities; and assessing debt capacity and recapitalization alternatives. Mr. Corio has advised on numerous Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, energy, real estate, retail, chemicals, aerospace, shipping, gaming, telecommunications and homebuilding. Recently, Mr. Corio advised WeWork through its Chapter 11 restructuring. He led efforts on business plan development, liquidity management, cost rationalization initiatives and restructuring negotiations. Mr. Corio also served as Financial Advisor to Heritage Power, a portfolio of 16 natural gas and oil-fueled power plants located in the PJM regional transmission market, and Frontera Generation, a combined cycle natural gas power plant in Texas, to advise on their respective Chapter 11 proceedings. A&M’s work with Frontera received “Turnaround/Transaction of the Year – MidSize Company” from the Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Corio’s other notable clients have included Virgin Orbit, Approach Resources, Longview Power/Mepco, Performance Sports Group, M&G Chemicals, Medical Depot, GT Advanced Technologies, Eagle Bulk Shipping, Revel Hotel & Casino, SP Newsprint, Lee Enterprises, USA Discounters, Finlay Enterprises, Technical Olympic USA (TOUSA) and Ashton Woods. Mr. Corio earned a bachelor\'s degree in finance and leadership from Boston College. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor and holds a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation.
