About Brett Burton
For 10 years, I learned from and worked with some of the brightest minds in sports medicine and performance. I was on a fast track to pursue a career in elite sports, but things changed when I received a cancer diagnosis.My life changed and made a massive career shift. After being a full-time patient and realizing what it was like to feel weak and sick, I wanted to use what I had learned in elite sports and get it behind those who felt like they were out of options.Blood flow restriction (BFR) training was one of those things. An exceptional methodology that yielded incredible results. I studied under Dr. Jim Stray-Gundersen and started teaching BFR worldwide in 2019 to health and fitness professionals. Shortly after, individuals were reaching out seeking guidance with BFR and Somavive was born.This has put me on a journey I never dreamed. I\'m now working with some of the top specialty centers in the country to help those with chronic conditions implement BFR to bring out the best of their bodies.For me it goes beyond BFR, but helping others build healthy habits that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. I\'m grateful to be healthy again and look forward to spending whatever time I have left helping others in a way that I needed help.I enjoy writing about health, wellness, and technology and look forward to continuing to innovate ways to better serve those who desperately need it.
