I educate and support surgeons (Vascular, General, Plastics Reconstruction, Ortho Trauma & Oncology, DPM) in Upstate New York who treat patients with complex, soft tissue injuries that require surgical debridement (I&D) and that can be difficult to heal due to the nature of the injury and/or the patients other comorbidities. Discussions regarding the value of sharp debridement, the protection of the injury post-debridement from the reformation of colonized bacteria and biofilm, the proper modulation from the pro-inflammatory M1 macrophage phenotype to the M2 anti-inflammatory macrophage phenotype, and the timely readiness for the injury to accept further skin grafting procedures or advanced skin substitutes allows me to correctly position my unique products that support an ideal healing environment.
