ABOUT BRETT SCOTT

I\'m a journalist, campaigner, economic anthropologist and former financial broker that explores the intersections between money systems, finance and digital technology. My last book was Cloudmoney: Cash, Cards, Crypto and the War for our Wallets (Penguin: 2022), which is now out in 12 languages. My first book was The Heretic\'s Guide to Global Finance (Pluto Press: 2013), which was a guide to the world of high finance and the emergent forms of alternative finance, alternative currencies and economic activism that are challenging it.I publish a lot of my latest work at ASOMOCO but I\'ve also written on cashless society, fintech, cryptocurrency, monetary reform, economic activism, and the politics of tech for publications like The Guardian, Business Insider, New Scientist, Huffington Post, Wired Magazine and CNN.com. I\'ve spoken at over 300 events in over 30 countries, and I\'ve been on many shows talking about these subjects too. I\'ve also provided input to reports for multilateral institutions like the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, UN Principles for Responsible Investment, and UN Environment Program.
