About Brett Heater
An Active, Organized and Innovative individual with a passion for sustainability and the environment. Extensive experience with Building Automation System design and implementation. Specializing in HVAC controls for mission critical facilities. As an undergraduate at CSU Channel Islands studying Environmental Science and Resource Management I was presented the opportunity to work with the Facilities Operations Planning and Construction Department (OPC). Through this role I had been tasked with engaging students, faculty and the community to strategize and execute capital projects that reduce both energy consumption and energy waste. The experience gained during this time was the catalyst to my career in facility performance and optimization. After completing my time at CSU Channel Islands I moved forward to work with Albireo Energy (Formerly Electronic Control Systems \"ECS\") as a Service Technician. Practical experience gained from responsibilities including installation, programming, commissioning, customer interaction, and independent project management pushed me forward with the confidence and capability to pursue engineering. Ascending through the engineering department to Senior Engineer experience gained included collaborating with the Engineering team, consulting MEP and Architectural firms to better integrate the role of Building Automation into construction projects, and meeting directly with clients to develop capital projects. After my 12 year tenure with Albireo Energy I have transitioned to Parity Inc as the Senior Building Intelligence Engineer (BIE) for the West Coast. In this role I support the deployment of Parity\'s HVAC optimization services and business development for the Western United States.Outside of the workplace my time time is spent in the mountains, flying planes, and enjoying time with my family and friends.
