The Sustainability Committee is a group of residents appointed by the Town Council to review and make recommendations about ways Clinton can balance environmental protection, economic development, and social issues.I was appointed by the Clinton Town Council and quickly became co-chair after the previous chairman stepped down. We earned for the town the bronze Sustainable CT certification to designate Clinton a sustainable town, which had been in the works for 2+ years on the committee.We worked to connect residents of Clinton\'s mobile home parks with town services as well as supported the Clinton Land Trust\'s acquisitions of unused property in town. We held a meeting of all the Sustainability-related boards and commissions in town to better coordinate and advance our goals. Additionally, we have worked alongside other commissions to secure food scrap and textile recycling boxes for the town.
