About Brett Weaver
I am the Tax Leader for the ESG practice at KMPG U.S. My team helps business use the tax function to enable and enhance their ESG initiatives. Tax is both a driver and measure of sustainability. Society and governments must partner with business to build a sustainable future. Such partnering takes the form of grants and tax incentives. This is a huge opportunity for business. I help companies find the right opportunities that align with their values and help fund their sustainability investments. At the same time, many stakeholders want more transparency around how companies manage their tax affairs and the taxes they pay. In this sense, how tax is managed is a measure of sustainable business practices. I help companies find a customized and comfortable approach to tax transparency that suits their individual needs. A positive and powerful public narrative about how a company manages its tax affairs increasingly relies on data – sometimes data that is not always readily accessible. This is driven both by growing stakeholder expectations and forthcoming regulatory requirements. We have world class processes and technology tools to help companies use data to better manage tax risk, capture sustainable tax benefits and, where appropriate, tell their public tax story.#KPMGESG #tax #ESGTax #ESGdisclosures #ESGreporting #transparency #taxtransparency #regulatory #technology
