I founded Rugo Stone in 1996 to preserve the art of fine stonework for future generations. The grandson of an Italian stone carver, I grew up amid granite quarries in Vermont where I developed a lifelong passion for natural stone. My career began at 15 when I started work in a marble shop, then a quarry, and soon after, on commercial job sites.Today, we’re one of the few companies employing masters from all the stonework disciplines—carvers, engravers, mosaic artists, and masons. I personally oversee the planning, sourcing, design, fabrication, and installation of the historically and architecturally significant projects we take on.I specialize in identifying, sourcing, and matching rare stone and historic materials, serving as a consultant for architects, private clients, and major conservation projects.
