About Brett Houghton

Brett has been facilitating processes and groups for three decades. He has spent most of that time engaging groups that include and center people who are low-income, people with limited-English proficiency, people are immigrants and refugees, or people form other historically underrepresented communities. Brett supports processes that can often be seen as difficult or scary. Brett creates strategic, organizational, and outreach plans that meet seemingly disparate needs. In community engagement processes, he creates plans to reach the whole community in clear easy to execute steps. He organizes and supports coalitions, collaboration, and 1-on-1 engagement. He includes all appropriate community members, including families, leaders, elected officials, social service providers, and advocacy groups. Brett develops messages and materials to effectively educate and build support among members of the public, from people with college educations and to those with little or no formal education. Management: Experience in financial, departmental, program, staff, and volunteer management.
