The Multicultural market is not homogenous and looks quite different than in years past. More than ever business growth for companies is completely based on Multicultural segments and is only becoming more pronounced as White Non-Hispanic population growth rates diminish. Yet many brands oversimplify and dilute their Multicultural marketing with “Total Market” initiatives that focus on efficiencies at the expense of effectiveness. As Chief Growth Officer, I need to know our client’s businesses like our own. It means discovering new pathways to growth by being an advocate for the consumer, a trusted advisor and cultural challenger, an accomplished brand builder, and a connector that aligns conflicting agendas across the organization. To be that solution, I led Conill’s transformation from its legacy Hispanic reputation to a strategic and creative brand building partner capable of targeting a variety of audiences. It also meant revamping and innovating the business development approach, targeting new revenue streams in our client’s ecosystems and building new service offerings to address their growth needs. This revamped approach delivered more new clients than the previous five years combined, win rates at 70% and the most significant revenue growth from inorganic channels previously recorded.
