About Brett Barrouquere
Brett is a highly-accomplished, award-winning editor and reporter with a knack for processing complicated information quickly and making is easily understandable. As a reporter, Brett covered many of the biggest stories in the country, including the starvation death of an inmate in Kentucky, how politics played a role in medical decisions for a death row inmate and as an editor, managing an Associated Press staff through coverage of a plane crash in Lexington, Kentucky, as well as covering mass shootings, among other major news events and scandals. Prior to moving to Baltimore, he led the staff of The Memphis Commercial Appeal through coverage of the death of Tyre Nichols, for which five Memphis Police officers have been charged, and the kidnapping and death of 34-year-old Eliza \"Liza\" Fletcher, who was found dead four days after being kidnapped while jogging on the University of Memphis campus.
