MANY OF OUR CLIENTS AND COLLEAGUES OFTEN REFER TO OUR CPA FIRM AS \"NOT YOUR TYPICAL CPAs.\"When I first heard that, I wasn’t quite sure how to take that description but soon learned that it was meant as a good thing.I first worked for John Davis (our firm’s founding partner) as an accountant soon after I graduated college from Lyndon State in 1998. Working for John’s firm was more than about my career as a CPA but for working with a man who held a strong belief that the company – and the people that work there – are good corporate neighbors. John believes in community, in helping the people we know who live, work, and play here and call Vermont home.Born and raised a native Vermonter while growing up in Hardwick, I wasn’t sure I’d be the right fit. But it proved to be exactly the right fit and I worked my way up to being admitted as Partner of the firm in January 2005. The firm’s name then changed to Davis & Hodgdon Associates, CPAs.While I work with a variety of clients providing audit, tax, and consulting services, I also lead the Audit and Accounting Department for the firm. Both John and I continue our belief in being good stewards of our communities and we work closely with several non-profit agencies. We provide discounted audits to community agencies including several with rigorous A-133 requirements (organizations or government agencies receiving federal fundingI’m honored to be a member of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and have been awarded the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the International Accounting and Finance Professionals. I’m also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the ACFE.Being active in my community is important and helps me form solid relationships with our clients.
