As Deputy Director of Residential and Supported Living Services for Children at Fair Ways, I am committed to creating environments where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered. My work is guided by trauma‑informed principles — recognising the impact of adversity, prioritising emotional safety, and building trust through consistent, compassionate care. I lead services that provide stability and belonging for children and young people who may have experienced significant challenges. By embedding trauma‑informed approaches into daily practice, I ensure our teams respond with empathy, patience, and respect, helping children to rebuild confidence and develop resilience. What makes me effective in this role is my ability to combine strategic leadership with genuine human connection. I believe that strong services are built not only on policies and procedures, but on relationships — listening to children’s voices, supporting staff wellbeing, and fostering cultures of kindness and accountability. At Fair Ways, we go beyond being a care provider. As a charity, we invest in training, innovation, and therapeutic approaches that empower children to thrive. Together, we create pathways to independence, helping young people discover their strengths and build brighter futures. I am passionate about leading services that don’t just meet needs, but heal, inspire, and unlock potential.
