ABOUT BRENT STAHL
Brent Stahl is a partner at Stahl, Sewell, Chavarria, Friend & Cohen LLP in Austin, Texas where he works on electricity generation, electricity storage, and other energy projects – including Datacenter, Battery Storage (BESS), Gas-Fired, LNG, Wind, Solar, and Hydrogen Energy Projects. Brent also works on general Commercial Real Estate Transactions and Property Tax Incentive Agreements. He helps clients with long term ground leases, purchase and sale transactions, development, easement, title, permitting, property tax, and survey matters (and mineral-surface estates accommodation agreements and surface waiver agreements). Brent is the Chair-Elect of the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (OGERL)- he recently served as Editor for a special 2025 Nuclear Energy Law edition of the OGERL Section Report. He is a member of the Texas Nuclear Alliance and has represented energy developers on projects in Texas, Oklahoma, and other states. Over the past two decades, the firm has represented energy companies in projects involving more than 35 Gigawatts of generating capacity. Brent has been Co-Chair of the UTCLE Renewable Energy Law Conference for more than 10 years and he is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
