Originally appointed as a Local Authority Governor by Bury Council in 2018. In early 2025, I continued in post as a Governor when Greenmount Primary School joined The Keep Learning Trust (formerly BCET).Key responsibilities: • Serve as Link Governor for Pupil Premium and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) • Monitor the use and impact of Pupil Premium funding • Champion inclusive, accessible, and representative practice across the school • Provide strategic support and challenge to the senior leadership team • Attend full governing board meetings and contribute to policy discussions • Conduct link visits and report findings to the boardThis role has strengthened my knowledge of school governance, safeguarding, and inclusive educational practice.
