ABOUT BRENT HUIGENS

I am proud to be founder and president of PWCC Marketplace, the largest seller of investment-caliber trading cards globally, with more than $50 million in annual revenue. After receiving my undergraduate degree in materials engineering and a master’s in biomedical engineering from California Polytechnic State University – San Louis Obispo, I worked in the nanotech field as a product development specialist for AM Fitzgerald. During this time, I saw a growing opportunity to create a service that would vastly improve the marketplace for one of my fondest childhood hobbies—trading cards. Traditionally, trading cards were purely a “for fun” venture, and collectors who wished to sell their items usually received lowball offers from dealers or had to pay high consignment fees if they wanted to auction their cards. So in 1998, I created PWCC to provide buyers and sellers of investment-caliber trading cards with an efficient, honest and predictable marketplace, and in 2012, I set my engineering career aside to pursue the growth of the company full time. Today, PWCC is one of the finest brokers of both vintage and modern graded trading cards. PWCC sets itself apart from other auction houses by offering buyers and sellers reduced transaction costs, faster turn times, increased liquidity and greater transparency, along with a commitment to handle every trade with the highest level of integrity and care.
