About Brennon White

I have over twenty years experience in developing automotive interior products and research centered around product design and advanced technologies. My product engineering experience spans nearly ten years developing and launching automotive interior products such as trim panels and seats. I have led teams from concepts through production. We developed with materials such as steels, polymers, urethane foams, cloths and leathers. Six Sigma, Robust design,GD & T, and joining methods were used to develop robust assemblies and kinematics. Common packaging required managing ergonomics, motorized mechanisms, electronic harnesses, sensors, and pyrotechnic device integration. My research experience also spans over ten years and includes areas of focus like Heated and ventilated seating (6 patents), seat mechanisms (3 patents), and manufacturing processes (1 patent) and Additive Manufacturing(10 patents) From 20••••15 I was the primary researcher of Additive Manufacturing for Johnson Controls Automotive Seating division where I deployed the technology in both polymer and metal processes. I supported the America Makes Executive Committee, Governance board and Road Mapping Committee with guidance on future additive manufacturing research initiatives targeted at the automotive industry. Other industry activity includes supporting SME as a technical adviser for the RAPID trade show which is solely focused on Additive Manufacturing. Today I utilize my experience and knowledge base to drive General Motors toward more efficient technology usage in the seating climate arena while supporting advanced manufacturing and product development initiatives in Additive Manufacturing.
