ABOUT BRENNAN CARLEY

I am an experienced entertainment and LGBTQ editor, writer, producer, and talent booker known for commissioning and creating digital and print content that is compelling, newsworthy, and award-nominated. Having led a group of staffers, contract writers, and freelancers, I\'m well-equipped to juggle editing and managing. I have a keen eye for exciting stories that attract strong traffic and drive conversation on social media. My extensive network of entertainment industry contacts, and the strong collaborative relationships I\'ve built with publicists and managers, make me an asset not only as an editor and writer, but also as a talent booker and shoot producer—I do all those jobs myself!Having built GQ\'s LGBTQ section from the ground up in 2017, I\'m passionate about queer talent, stories and storytellers. I commissioned and edited the magazine\'s first Pride cover story in 2019, and led the section to its first GLAAD Award nomination the same year. The digital entertainment stories I commissioned, edited, and wrote consistently outperformed print cover stories in traffic and attention. Under my leadership, the entertainment vertical became one of the website\'s most read sections, with consistently high engagement time to boot.Now, as a freelancer, I pitch, report, and write entertainment and LGBTQ stories for outlets that include The New York Times, Vogue, Entertainment Weekly, Cosmopolitan, MTV News, Mr. Porter, Grammy.com, Elle Magazine, Esquire, and Billboard.
