Since 2012, I have raised £2M in matched crowd and grant funding, working with established funders such as the Wellcome Trust, Nesta and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. During the first COVID-19 lockdown, Brendon helped to spearhead DV’s ‘Archaeology at Home’ initiative, attracting a total of 11,242 participants, including citizens from 81 countries who took part in a Virtual Field School, and an online hosted festival, DigNation, attracting an audience of 3,300 from 61 countries. This work was recognised in 2021 by winning prestigious Europa Nostra Award and Heritage in Motion award.
