ABOUT BRENDEN W.
As a 2023 Fellow at Venture For America and a Student Success Coach at City Year, I apply my data-driven and entrepreneurial mindset to create positive social impact in underserved communities. I help students catch up to grade level in math, teach social-emotional learning, and implement an entrepreneurship club to empower them to solve issues around their school and community.I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor\'s degree in Economics and a minor in Environmental Science and Health Science. During my studies, I gained practical experience as an Environmental and Sustainability Analyst at the Industrial Assessment Center, where I consulted small to medium sized factories and office buildings on energy usage, sustainable upgrade options, and ROI analysis. I also participated in accelerators, clubs, and various jobs to hone my programming skills in Swift, Java, Python, R, and Stata.I love to constantly learn and be challenged, because I believe that growth is the key to making the world a better place. My aspirations are to use my training in computer/data science and economics to innovate and collaborate in the fields of education and technology. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring nature, staying active, and learning piano and music production.
