ABOUT BRENDAN SCHULER
I started as a mechanical engineer, which mostly means I spent a lot of time figuring out why things weren\'t working the way they should. Turns out that\'s a transferable skill.I co-founded a wearable tech startup my junior year of college—built the team to 8 people, landed partnerships with two universities, and secured two patents before I graduated. At Parker Hannifin, I doubled manufacturing throughput on production lines supporting Moderna and Pfizer\'s COVID vaccine rollout. At BJC HealthCare—a $10B system with the #1 ranked hospital in Missouri—I was the product lead responsible for how 2 million patients interacted with their care digitally. If a patient booked, messaged, scheduled, or followed up through a screen, it touched my work. Now at McDonald\'s, I lead Profile—the product that governs how 200 million customers interact with their accounts, preferences, and personal data across the global app. It\'s the kind of work where getting it right is invisible, but getting it wrong breaks everything downstream.I tend to think in systems. I like the problems where the obvious answer isn\'t quite right and the real leverage is somewhere nobody\'s looking yet.Outside of work, I like building things and being outside. I designed, built, and operate a short-term rental on a 28-lake chain in northern Wisconsin. I\'ve skydived, finished a Spartan Race on zero training (don\'t recommend), and I\'ll take a hard trail over a beach any day. I have two dogs and a psychiatrist partner—so I get unsolicited feedback on both my activity levels and my mental state. If you\'re working on something hard and want to think through it, I\'m usually up for that conversation.
