About Brendan Dooher

Dr. Brendan Dooher is a CFD and thermal analyst, as well as a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering, part of the National Academy of Sciences. For the past several years he worked with EarthGrids Plasma Vortex Tunnel Boring Machine technology. With EarthGrid now focusing on its trenching tech, Brendan is working on AI Education software for home schoolers. While at PG & E, he acted as a lead numerical analyst for PG & E\'s Applied Technology Services, performing fluid dynamics, fluid structural interaction, and heat transfer analysis using ANSYS (CFX/Fluent) and Matlab/Simulink. His current work involves hydro support and examines turbo machinery impacts from cavitation and particle impact. His duties also include energy efficiency and technology assessments. He has also specialized in such disciplines as risk and decision analysis using statistical assessments of environmental data combined with analytical and numerical modeling. He has almost fifteen years of experience working in the environmental field, and has extensive knowledge of the State of California’s contaminant and hydrogeological environment, as well as regulatory decision making. Dr. Dooher was part of the LLNL team that pointed out the danger to California groundwater from the gasoline additive MTBE, and he continues to assess it on an economic and environmental basis. Dr. Dooher has worked closely with the California State Water Resources Control Board to develop their GeoTracker internet based database and GIS system, which collects environmental monitoring data such as well positions, chemical analysis, and groundwater levels from over contaminant sites throughout the state.Specialties: Water and energy resources.
