ABOUT BRENDAN MCKILLOP

Working at the BAFTA & EMMY award winning production company Humble Bee Films as Sizzle Editor & Junior Editor since 2021, I have transformed complex natural history ideas in Development from written treatments into 50+ powerful and compelling cinematic trailers that have secured several seven-figure commissions (e.g, “Airborne”, “Wild Side of the Moon”) with premier broadcasters including Netflix, Apple, Sky, Disney and the BBC. Working under tight deadlines and high pressure, I also collaborate closely with series producers and directors on productions, bringing their visions to life. I recently edited multiple behind-the-scenes sequences and the official Trailer for a Sky Nature series, demonstrating effectiveness and versatility across both development and broadcast projects. Prior to joining Humble Bee Films, I worked as Lead Editor & Videographer at ProfileTree, an award-winning digital marketing agency, where I spearheaded production for high-profile clients, including The National Trust, Mercedes-Benz, Molson Coors, Tourism Northern Ireland and The Irish Government. My storytelling expertise and impactful visual communication skills earned recognition when a video podcast series I developed and edited—interviewing business leaders across the UK and Ireland—won the \"Best Content Marketing Award for a Video Series\" at the Irish Content Marketing Awards 2019. Originally from Northern Ireland and now based in Bristol following my MA in Film and Television, I bring 8+ years of diverse professional editing experience across broadcast, development and marketing projects. My software expertise spans Premiere Pro, Avid, After Effects, Media Encoder and Photoshop - enabling me to visually communicate complex ideas while collaborating seamlessly within different teams, workflows and industries. I have comprehensive editing skillsets, including sourcing, identifying and ingesting impactful footage and music, to advanced sound design/mixing, colour grading and graphic creation. These skills have been honed through years of experience cutting high-end & premium content, including trailers, reels and short films, where I have independently crafted 100+ edits from start to finish.
