ABOUT BRENDAN ROY
I spent years in secondary education as a Deputy Headteacher — responsible for curriculum, student outcomes, and yes, writing the timetable. I know exactly how hard it is to get staff into training without everything else falling apart. That experience is why I now deliver MHFA England accredited mental health first aid training specifically for education settings. I understand the pressures your staff are under, the constraints you’re working within, and how to make training work around schools and colleges rather than against them.I offer both the Adult version and the Youth version — focused specifically on supporting young people aged 8 to 18 — which resonates strongly with pastoral and teaching staff dealing with student mental health every day.Training can be delivered face to face or virtually, across two full days or split into four shorter sessions to fit around timetables and cover. I work with schools, MATs, FE colleges, and universities nationwide.A recent college principal described my sessions as creating “a delivery manner that staff really trusted and engaged with” and “a safe and productive place” for staff to engage with a challenging subject. If you’re thinking about mental health training for your staff — or want to explore what a whole-institution approach might look like — feel free to connect or send me a message.
