As an award-winning, nationally-recognized writer for the The New York Times, Rolling Stone and Sports Illustrated, Esquire, and the Newark Star-Ledger, he has spent almost two decades reporting from - and chronicling - some of the biggest stories across the sports landscape. He has written from the Super Bowl, World Series, The Masters, Final Four, and Triple Crown races, as well as reported from Ground Zero following the death of Osama Bin Laden; in Baltimore\'s as the city responded to the killing of Freddie Gray; and the golf world\'s reaction to derogatory comments made by presidential candidate, Donald Trump.His work has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors, as well as twice by the Best American Sports Writing anthology series. His 2023 GOLF.com story was honored as one of the 25 best pieces of the year in “The Year’s Best Sports Writing.” In 2017, his first book, “Basketball’s Game Changers” was published by Lyons Press. He is a voter for the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y, and has previously been a voter for the John R.
