    I assist high school students with developing, presenting, and researching original speeches or arguments that will be performed competitively during the Speech & Debate season. I hold weekly individual and group practices to refine student performances. On Saturdays, I help judge at local tournaments, providing constructive critiques for competitors. My primary categories are Original Oratory, Congressional Debate, and Discussion, with secondary categories being Extemporaneous Speaking, Drama, Poetry, Informative, Lincoln-Douglas, and Duo. I also manage our team activity account, raised over each year from fundraisers, arranged bussing logistics to tournaments, and manage our team invoices and registrations.Notable Student Accomplishments-In 2025, I had a student place in the top 100 for Impromptu Speaking at the NSDA National Tournament and compete at the NSDA National Tournament in Extemp Speaking-In 2025, I had a student of mine place in the top 60 students at the NIETOC Tournament in Extemp Speaking-In 2023, a student of mine qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in U.S. Extemp Speaking-In 2023, two students of mine qualified for the NIETOC tournament in Original Oratory-In 2023, two students of mine qualified for the AA State Speech Tournament in Discussion, both placing top 10 in state and placing first and second in our Section Tournament-In 2022, a student of mine qualified for the NIETOC tournament in Original Oratory and placed in the top 100 competitors. I judged 6 rounds at this national tournament, including the Quarterfinal round for Extemporaneous Speaking-In 2022, a student of mine was a National Qualifier semifinalist for Original Oratory in the Minnesota Southern District, placing 8th overall-In 2022, the six members of my Discussion team broke to final rounds a total of 17 times, with three placing in the final round at the Bloomington Tournament and one taking 1st overall.
