I’m Brenda Carter-Davis, born & raised in a little town right outside Salem, WV; The Valley of Learning has always been my home. I joined the SU family as a Ground Admissions Advisor because I wanted make a difference in a person’s life and during my years on campus, I discovered a difference that was made in mine. Every day is a new & exciting experience. I am a retired Real Estate Broker with over 25 years in the business. When I obtained that achievement I was deemed to be the “Youngest Female Broker” in the state of West Virginia & have been listed in the “Who’s Who of America’s Top Female Business Leaders”. I was a nontraditional student and my work passion is helping the Non-traditional student. No one knows the value of an education greater than the person without one. In Real estate, I helped people realize the dream of home ownership that never had an opportunity & at SU I help people obtain a quality education that they never thought was possible. Hard work & doing the right thing, combined with SU’s Open Enrollment Policy have afforded many students throughout the world a valuable power that no one can take away - the power of an education. My hobbies include gardening, reading, hiking, travel & anything outdoors. I’m a very social person in my public life but my down time is better spent alone to rejuvenate the spirit & strengthen the soul. My life/job is sometimes hard but it is always good and to quote Tom Hanks: “If it wasn\'t hard, everyone would do it. It\'s the hard that makes it great.” Unquote. I can’t imagine my life or my job any other way but great.
