About Brenda Thornton
As a Computer Engineering student at the University of Georgia, I am passionate about leveraging technology to solve real-world problems in embedded systems, web development, and data analysis. During my internship at Boeing, I conducted uncertainty analysis on fuel flowmeter data, identifying bias errors that improved measurement accuracy and system efficiency. I have also developed hardware and software solutions, including an RGB LED controller and a fingerprint car alarm system using FPGA technology. Beyond my technical work, I am dedicated to mentorship and community engagement, teaching web development and Arduino programming as a HYPE instructor and Teaching Assistant. My experience with HYPE took me to Jamaica, where I helped lead coding workshops despite challenges like limited connectivity. As a first-generation college student, I am driven by resilience, adaptability, and a passion for learning, always seeking opportunities to innovate and make an impact in engineering and mentorship.
