ABOUT BRENDA JENKINS
Hi, my name is Brenda. I’m an ASL-English interpreter and co-owner of Asign and Director of Marketing and PR. I’ve been interpreting professionally for 30+ years, but I’ve signed my whole life. As a Coda (child of Deaf adults), American Sign Language was my first language, and the Deaf community has always been part of who I am. Not everyone has exposure to Deaf culture, which is why I’m passionate about raising awareness and starting meaningful conversations about accessibility. That passion led me to a career in interpreting and, eventually, to co-founding Asign (formerly Sign Language Interpreting Associates Ottawa). Asign offers high-quality sign language interpreting and translation. As Director of Marketing and PR, I focus on making sure our message reaches the organizations and businesses that need our services most. Through strategic outreach, education, and advocacy, I help bridge the gap between accessibility needs and real-world solutions.
