ABOUT BRENDA AMISI-HUTCHINSON
I am a values driven social work leader with over 25 years of experience driving change in children’s social care across London. I am passionate about equity, systems leadership, and trauma-informed practice, I bring a deep commitment to safeguarding and strategic transformation. As a Black and Asian Leadership Initiative (BALI) Alumna and a member of London Leadership in Colour, I am dedicated to shaping inclusive, forward-thinking practice to tackle amongst other challenges the over representation of global majority families within the social care system. I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate at the Tavistock, where my research explores the organisational conditions that enable trauma-informed practice in statutory children’s social work—advancing the sector’s capacity to support children and families effectively.
