ABOUT BRENDYN REINECKE

I am an intellectual property (IP) attorney with experience advising on IP risk and managing patent and trademark portfolios. After working as an automation engineer for a chemical manufacturer, I attended law school while clerking for a law firm. I was a full-time associate patent attorney at the law firm for three years before transitioning in-house. With six years of experience as in-house IP counsel at Milwaukee Tool, I became an expert in IP product support through the life cycle of a product. I gained experience supporting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and AI-related technologies and products. I began working for Discover Financial Services on everything IP including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, contracts, education, and risk management. I led due diligence and integration activities for Discover during the merger with Capital One, where I currently work.In the summer between graduating law school and starting work full time, I built a kit car with my father which was a fun way to scratch my intellectual itch and dive deep into the automotive field. I can get excited and geek out about almost any technology.I have been recognized by my supervisors for my skills in clear and concise communication, critically thinking through complex issues, building strong relationships with business partners, and making outsized contributions to the business\'s success.I am admitted to practice in the state of Wisconsin and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
