About Breille I.

I’m Breille Irahoza, a Burundian scientist by curiosity, strategic thinker by training, and storyteller at heart. A graduate of Vassar College in Environmental Studies, I’m driven by one question: how can capital catalyze solutions born in overlooked places? My journey began in the lab, where I conducted uranium incubation experiments on Marcellus shale to understand how novel fluid additives could stabilize uranium mobility underground. That curiosity for how things move, from molecules to markets, earned me the Mid-Hudson ACS Undergraduate Research Award and induction into the Sigma Xi Honor Society. But I soon realized that discovery alone isn’t enough. Impact happens when research crosses paths with innovation and entrepreneurship. That conviction led me to the Vassar Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program, where I helped turn ideas into ventures through workshops, pitch competitions, and a flagship conference, The Entrepreneurial Mind and the Liberal Arts. Today, as an Included VC Fellow, I’m learning to see venture capital not just as a money maker, but as an instrument of systems change. I’m starting as a generalist to find my voice, hopefully to become a specialist in green science/tech to advance green economies. I’m currently open to entry-level roles in venture capital and impact investing, particularly across North America (U.S. and Canada), the U.K, and Africa (particularly South Africa and Kenya), with visa-sponsorship. Curiosity built my foundation. Strategy shaped my thinking. Storytelling keeps me human. And venture capital, to me, is where I finally embody all three.
