Leading with empathy—that is what I bring to the team. With a background in journalism and customer service, my digital writing journey began by partnering with UX designers. This instilled in me an obsession with the user journey, and making it as smooth as possible. Once I became a team lead, this is what I used as my guiding light internally as well. Whether working with my team of copywriters or receiving feedback from cross-departmental leaders, I have found that assuming positive intent and attempting to understand everyone’s point of view are vital to achieving results while retaining a team mindset.

   Lead a team of up to 3 writers working across our four brands—Beautyrest, Serta, Beauty Sleep (Simmons), and Tuft & Needle—to create engaging and results-focused content for all company needs while owning and maintaining the brand voice and tone- Partner with creative and cross-departmental stakeholders to fully understand the briefs, write or edit the content, and adjust based on feedback- Worked closely with our UX leads to provide and organize the copy for a complete website overhaul to the Shopify platform across 4 websites- Lead my team through multiple rounds of layoffs where we lost over half of our copy team, while maintaining morale and continuing the same level of output
