ABOUT BREANNA EMAUS
I’m a fourth-year Allied Health Science student at Grand Valley State University with a concentration in social science and public health. Before transferring to GVSU, I attended Grand Rapids Community College, where I earned an associate degree in Health and Exercise Science. Through coursework, university research, and hands-on volunteer and work experience, I’ve developed a multifaceted understanding of health disparities and underserved populations around me and across the United States. I have engaged with individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities, current and formerly incarcerated populations, and survivors of sex and human trafficking. I am especially passionate about women’s health and anti-sex trafficking work on both public and global levels. I am eager to study and learn beyond the United States, driven to expand my global health perspective through travel, international work opportunities, and the possibility of continuing my education abroad.
