ABOUT BREANDAN BREANDAN MURPHY

I have worked on geophysical survey projects supporting a range of offshore operations, across the energy sector including; large scale reconnaissance surveys for wind project feasibility and early stage ground models, detailed (including highly specialist 3DUHR) surveys for foundation assessment and installation, cable route engineering surveys, standalone jackup, semisub and DP drillship location assessments, field development surveys, drill centre clearances and pipeline route surveys. My input to projects has ranged from desk study work to establish ground conditions and the issues facing a project or operation, how those issues can be addressed with an appropriate survey specification and approach, and then effectively carrying out those plans in the form of specifying, tendering, contracting and managing the required site investigations or supporting studies. I have undertaken geophysical interpretation integrating exploration 3D, 2D High Resolution and shallow profiler seismic data with regional geology, borehole and offset well records to create a robust understanding of the subsurface that is clearly and concisely presented in technical reports and maps. Seismic interpretation of geohazards based on; DHI responses, seismic attributes, amplitude mapping, depth conversion and well log correlation. I have worked on the QC of large scale reconnaissance surveys for wind project developments, ensuring the quality of interpretation and data integration and consistency between the increasingly complex and data intensive deliverables required by these projects.I have a keen interest in the application of machine learning to link geophysical attributes to physical properties and geotechnical measurements and am keenly observing progress in this exciting area.
