WHAT I DOI’m a life-sciences data scientist leader who uses advanced statistical methods to build inferential models of real-life problems. I’ve led and collaborated in cross-functional team efforts that increased business value, reduced costs, improved patient journeys, and produced technical breakthroughs. THE VALUE I BRINGI’m known for applying novel analytics to datasets. People typically reach out when they need something that’s different than a standard statistical analysis. I’m an expert in high-performance algorithm development with the ability to begin with non-technical business/project requirements, determine the most-applicable analytic methods to gain the necessary insight, and present the results to non-technical executives and contributors. I design algorithms (as opposed to just using pre-made packages, although I can do that too). THE APPROACH I TAKEThe teams I’ve worked on have been relatively small so I have direct experience with most parts of a data-science lifecycle: taking requirements, design, testing, and production. I’ve worked on projects in diagnostics, commercial, HEOR, biomarkers, and trials. In many cases, I was the only statistician, data scientist, and/or programmer.
