Originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, I embarked on a diverse academic journey at The Florida State University in Tallahassee, where I delved into music, international affairs, and Spanish, ultimately earning my Bachelor\'s Degree in International Affairs with a focus on Political Science and Spanish language in 2009.Driven by a passion for justice, I pursued law school at Florida A&M University College of Law, graduating with my Juris Doctor degree in 2018. My legal journey began in criminal defense and expanded to impactful roles within government institutions, including the Michigan Attorney General\'s Office and various departments within the Florida government. Notably, I played a pivotal role in shaping Florida\'s legal landscape, contributing significantly to the inception of Florida\'s medicinal marijuana policies and spearheading the development of the state health office\'s legal case management system.As the owner of Durham Legal Services, LLC, I am dedicated to providing support to solo practitioners and small law firms. Additionally, our business extends its services through Durham Nexus Notary & Beyond, offering comprehensive notary services and beyond to meet our clients\' diverse needs.Outside of my career, I indulge my artistic flair as an actor and singer, gracing local theaters with my talent. I am also a proud, dedicated and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. However, my most cherished role is that of a dedicated single mother, navigating the challenges of raising my pre-teen son, who thrives with ADHD and high-functioning autism spectrum disorder.
