ABOUT BRANDYE SMITH-GOETTLER
I specialize in chemometrics (AI & ML as applied to chemistry), process analytics, and spectroscopy. I began my post graduate career working as a chemometrician at a small biotechnology company, then moved to the Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) group at GSK, and then to the PAT group at Merck & Co, Inc. I have deployed measurement systems & models to monitor, in-process release, and/or control drug product manufacturing. Having experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning as part of my chemometrics background, I transitioned to a data science role. In my current position, I leverage chemometrics and pharmaceutical manufacturing expertise to develop data science solutions, e.g, dynamic alarm prioritization modeling, sentiment analysis, and self-service data analytics software development. I am an active member of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy (served as Parliamentarian and currently serving as Treasurer) and the Coblentz Society (served as a board member and as President). I have served as an Eastern Analytical Symposium Governing Board member since 2007. I enjoy volunteering because I have a passion to advocate for science, am eager to learn, and keen to collaborate. When not being a science nerd; I enjoy spending time with my family and being outside.
