I am a Canadian CPA and Chief Compliance & Chief Financial Officer at Owens MacFadyen Group (“OMG”). OMG is an independent boutique wealth management firm with roots in Atlantic Canada, and which serves clients and family offices across the country with a unique approach to financial advice. In my role, I am focused on maintaining exceptional standards of service for our clients, striving for operational excellence while adhering to the robust standards of the Canadian financial and insurance industries.Prior to joining OMG, I held senior finance roles with the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (“TAQA”) in the United Arab Emirates and Canada. TAQA is an international energy company with operations consisting of power generation and transmission, water desalination, oil and gas production and storage. My roles were centered around internal and external financial and operational reporting, with the aim to provide management and investors with insights to pursue best outcomes for all stakeholders. TAQA’s assets span 11 countries across 4 continents with a value of over USD $50 billion.I began my career with KPMG in Calgary, where I served primarily in the firm’s Assurance practice. With the firm, I worked on a variety of clients ranging from small private enterprises to large public entities with multi-jurisdictional reporting requirements. I also led a number of Advisory projects where I assisted global energy companies in completing and optimizing their financial reporting processes. I was incredibly fortunate to learn from experienced professionals within the firm and with our clients. As with all Big 4 firms, I was privileged to develop lifelong relationships with peers and colleagues.I was born, raised and educated in Saskatchewan. My perspectives have been shaped by family, the talented people I\'ve worked with, and the opportunity to travel and experience different cultures. I value creativity, transparency and kindness.
