About Brandon Parker
Brandon Parker has most recently fulfilled the position of Lead Control Systems Commissioning Engineer. He has also functioned as an Engineering Manager and Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) for Integrated Control Systems for Black & Veatch Energy Division. Mr. Parker joined Black & Veatch in January of 1997 and specializes in integrated control system design and procurement. He has several years of general I&C design experience associated with greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit power plant design. Design experience includes pulverized coal subcritical, combustion turbine based cogeneration, combined cycle, and pulverized coal supercritical power plant design. He has also been involved with project proposals associated with traditional fossil based power plants, oil & gas processing facilities, concentrated solar power, and wind power. Mr. Parker has interacted on projects as a Design Engineer (control systems, logic, schematics), Lead Schematic Engineer, Lead I&C Engineer, Lead Control Systems Commissioning Engineer, Project Discipline Engineer, and Engineering Manager.Mr. Parker has extensive experience in the application of Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed Control Systems, Process Automation Controllers, and many forms of Foreign Device Interfaces. He has attained certification as a Profibus Network Engineer as well as OPC Professional (Level 1-4). Mr. Parker has worked with Emerson Ovation, Foxboro IA, Bailey Infi-90, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Allen-Bradley SLC-5, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, GE-Fanuc 9070, GE-Fanuc 9030, Modicon Quantum, and Siemens platforms. He has also been involved with the technical evaluation of the Yokogawa Centum-VP, and Rockwell Plant-PAx platforms.Mr. Parker has significant experience in the development of plant functional control logic. He has worked with all of the process systems within a fossil power plant design (feedwater, condensate, circulating water, main steam, reheat steam, etc.). He has also developed the detailed logic diagrams for the auxiliary electric systems (LV, MV, and HV) on several projects.
