ABOUT BRANDON WAFFORD

I am a highly-capable communicator who thrives when engaging others about the nuances and complexities of the social world. I use data visualization software, participant based research methods, web-based and in-person facilitation, and iterative team building as tools to educate the public. In turn, public scholarship makes accessible the abundant resource of knowledge equipping a wider audience with the tools necessary for their work to have global impact. Professionally, i work at the intersection of civil rights and the realities of systemic inequity, particularly as it relates to how the legacy of colonialization shapes the conscious and imagination of the people of the Americas (North and South). With a B.A. in Sociology and Spanish, I enjoy volunteering as a translator, in both the Spanish language and in the theoretical frameworks that shape the political and economic landscape of today. My commitment to public service is displayed in my 5 collective years as a Cuyahoga County and Baltimore City public servant. I’ve spent time in nonprofit, for-profit, and academia with education being the heartbeat sustaining my career. My gift to build authentic relationships among diverse groups as a method to brave the wicked conflicts necessary to coming to a consensus. I enjoy dancing Cumbia and biking through cityscapes when I’m not talking too fast about niche topics.
