About Brandon Grinstead

With over 30 years of experience in fire service and emergency medical services, I am a dedicated and skilled EMS Fire Captain at Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), where I lead and supervise the Quality Management Division. My mission is to plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate patient safety activities within the EMS Section, and to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. I am passionate about delivering high-quality care and service to the community, and I strive to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration among my team and partners.In my current role, I also serve as an All-Risk Incident Safety Officer, responding to emergency incidents to identify hazards and minimize the risk to our firefighters and bystanders. I have extensive experience and training in urban search and rescue (USAR), medical unit leadership, and CPR, and I have contributed to multiple large-scale incidents requiring staffing of various Incident Command Systems positions. Keeping our firefighters safe is my passion and commitment. Additionally, I engage in pre-incident planning activities, data analysis, instructional design, and budgeting to support the EMS Section\'s goals and objectives. I have received recognition and awards for my innovative and data-driven solutions to transport decisions in hypoxic patients, and for my outstanding performance and leadership in the field.
