10/2011 – Present, Program Analyst and Regional Veteran Employment Coordinator, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Human Resources & Administration, Veterans Employment Services Office (VESO), VAforVETS, Washington, D.C, OUTREACH FOR RETENTION AND REINTEGRATION: Closely work on the Outreach segments, both internal and external areas for the new VA for Vets program. Identify trends with reintegration issues that our Reserves members are experiencing within the Department of Veterans Affairs. ACCOMPLISHMENT: Began with the new VA roll out initiative imbedded in the Retention & Reintegration team reviewing call center training and what products we had and what marketing items our contractors were developing or had already developed for the agency. INITIATED USERRA TRAINING FOR HUMAN RESOURCES PERSONNEL AND SUPERVISORS: Recognized a lack of quality training for our human resource members across the agency is the common denominator. Reviewed the new USERRA training in December and drafted the memorandum for our director to go out to all VA; one project on this topic involved new interactive training on USERRA that will capture data on making sure those in Human Resources or in supervisory roles within VA will complete the required annual training with a passing score. Provided USERRA training as a result of multiple years in the role of a Veterans’ Employment Representative, guiding human resource personnel through the regulations.
